We could see a major low in Gold soon

I'm very happy gold we have finally a sell off that will lead to a major low. It could be 1400, 1300 or today. But I think the bull market in gold is not complete. I think the fundamentals of Gold are intact. If we look at the records, Gold is now down 21% from the September 2011 highs. Apple is down 31% from last years highs. The S&P is up not even 1% from the peak in 2007. Over the same period of time, including the current correction Gold is up over 100%.

Gold is the most honest form of Cash

Marc Faber : People should buy gold today because there is a huge run in precious metals recently and I think they need to consolidate and shake out the weak holders, , everyone should hold some gold because it is a form of cash. Gold is the most honest form of Cash

Gold not in a bubble

Marc Faber : “I don’t think it is a bubble, but I think the gold market has exploded to the upside recently and the correction is overdue. But as I have always maintained for the last 12 years, every responsible adult should gradually accumulate gold, because not owning any gold is the trouble with government. I don’t understand. People of Bloomberg, I hardly know anyone who owns any gold physically. All of the Bloomberg employees are intelligent people. They listen to the news every day. They make the news every day. Hardly anyone owns any gold.”

Gold Will Be Substantially Higher Over The Next 5-10 Years

" I rather see that over the next 5-10 years we will have substantially higher gold prices, or expressed differently, lower purchasing power of paper money." Marc Faber - in CNBC

The Risk Is Not To Hold Gold

The risk is not to hold gold. Whilst there is the potential for 10 percent downside in the short term over the next 5 to 10 years the gains will be big. Or put another way, the purchasing power of paper money will fall. Cash is very risky asset except in times of major market corrections. - in CNBC

"When the turn comes and inflation and rates rise, all the money in bonds will move into equities."

primitive civilizations remaining after a future economic collapse would still value gold

Marc Faber , a longtime bearish investor and author of the newsletter the Gloom, Boom & Doom report. He argued that primitive civilizations remaining after a future economic collapse would still value gold, not gemstones. If you're in a jungle or a desert, people still value gold, via ET Now

Gold is My Favorite Currency

Dr. Marc Faber author publisher and editor of the Gloom, Boom & Doom report talking about his love for Gold calling it his favorite currency : ..."...I am not a perennial gold bug. But, when governments spend far more than they collect in taxes (large fiscal deficits), and when central bankers engage in reckless monetary policies and, instead of treating the causes of the problems (excessive debt growth), treat the symptoms (deflationary forces), gold as a currency does make a lot of sense. I need to clarify one point. When gold recently broke out on the upside above $1,000 per ounce I maintained that, whereas in the past the $1,000 level had been an area of resistance, with gold now above $1,000 it had become an area of support. I also said that if gold failed to hold above $1,000, I would become extremely concerned; and that in such a case a sell-off to $800 could not be ruled out, as failed breakout moves can lead to violent counter-movements. My feeling is that gold will hold above $1,000 and will trend higher over time. In fact, the breakout move of gold above $1,000 could be as significant as the decisive breakout move of the Dow Jones above the 1,000 level in early 1983..."

You want to be in Gold, Silver, Platinum and Oil

‘You want to be in gold, silver, platinum and also oil. If you believe in a recovery of asset prices as a result of money printing, you should be in hard assets, particularly precious metals. If you want to own shares, I would own some resource companies- I would also own some Asian shares.’ - Marc Faber

China and Gold

”Now, just consider what the impact would be if China were to increase its gold holdings from presently less than 2 per cent of its $2.2 trillion reserves to 6 per cent or 10 per cent. Each 1 per cent increase in gold weighting would mean gold purchases of more than $20 billion, or nearly 600 tonnes,” - Marc Faber

Gold or Silver?

" First of all, I think that gold and silver will move in the same direction, but as I tried to explain earlier on, when you print money, essentially, everything goes up, but at different times, and with different intensities. In a bull market, usually, toward the tail end of the bull market, silver tends to grossly outperform gold. So, yes, maybe it will outperform gold, but I stick to gold because my safe deposit box is not large enough to put enough silver in it, whereas, it is large enough to put enough gold in it.Different people have different takes on this, and my friend Eric Sprott, who knows the silver and gold markets extremely well, thinks that silver will go ballistic. Yes, maybe that is true, but I do not think that silver will go up alone, without gold also moving. The direction will be same. Concerning China, yes, I suppose that silver would have a larger industrial component than gold, but as I pointed out, if China collapses and there is a huge deflationary scare, I suppose that it is the real industrial commodities, like copper and nickel and so forth, would be more vulnerable than gold and silver "

Investors Should accumulate gold reserves as a currency

In an interview today with CNBC Dr. Marc Faber editor & publisher of The Gloom, Boom & Doom Report said that Investors should be their own central banks and gradually accumulate gold reserves as a currency, rather than speculating in gold. Marc Faber, editor & publisher of "The Gloom, Boom & Doom Report" talks about his preferred ways to invest in gold  " well basically I do not think that people should punt on Gold but they should be their own central bank and gradually accumulate gold reserves as a currency and they should basically hold it physically but not in the US outside the US " " I think there is the risk that the US will once again as they did in 1933 collect the gold expropriate the gold they will not take away and not pay anything they'll pay probably the market price and after they will revalue it it by say five times "

If it were a bubble a lot of people would have gold. The whole world would be trading gold 24 hours a day. But I don't think it's really a bubble. I think gold is maybe cheaper today than it was in 1999, when it was 252 USD. in CNBC

Buy Farmland a tractor and gold says Marc Faber

On an interview with the Norwegian TV DNtv Dr. Marc Faber recommended buying farmland and Gold "You can not just keep printing money, as one does now, and expect it to become more credit. It comes to a point where you throw so much money on the system not working. It will lead to a weak dollar over time and eventually it will not be worth anyone, "says Faber. "I recommend everyone to have some cash and some in gold. Real gold, " "Stock up on a farm in northern Norway and learn to drive a tractor. No one bothered to bomb in northern Norway, "he said.
